Oh the whims of academia.

Tomorrow I'm going to an academic conference,  and I'm a strange mix of excited and blah about it. It's my first real conference as a grad student, and I'm sort of nervous about making impressions and whatnot. Also about wearing "business casual." I hate all dressing-up that doesn't involve costumes, ballgowns, or cocktail dresses. Normally I just wear ratty jeans and an assortment of kickin' t-shirts/hoodies; I'm going to be so uncomfortable in nice slacks and collared shirts and skirts. Ick.

But, you know, there's also meeting all my academic heroes and getting to see the most cutting-edge research out there. And I furthermore expect that I'll be spending a good deal of time furtively writing pornficlets and working on the epic Frank/Gerard AU I've got going. YAY PROFESSIONALISM.

But the point is, I probably won't have a good deal of access to the internet until I get back on Sunday, which should send me into paroxysms of sadness. I will miss things! If anything exciting happens, KEEP ME POSTED. I WILL MISS YOU, INTERNETS. 

ETA: Universe, plz to be giving GWAY the best birthday ever. I'd totally appreciate it and take it as a personal favor, and also as a sign that you're not senseless and cruel like all the people say. WHAT DO THEY KNOW, EH. Ugh, Gerard, seriously. That boy, he is unreal. And I love him. I hope he is showered with joy and zombies and hot men/his hot wife.
