So, there's this awesome fic meme in [livejournal.com profile] t_lyrical's journal where you write a sentence-long fic for each genre (AU, angst, crack, etc...), and her Temeraire version was so awesome I thought, hey, I'll give it a shot.

Then halfway through I realized it was supposed to be a TEN WORD LONG SENTENCE. HAHAHA. *facepalm*

So, for extra lulz, try to pinpoint the fics I wrote before and after I had this revelation! Not that I followed the rules anyway, because TEN WORDS. Do you know how short that is? FIFTEEN WORDS, OKAY. That is what I require. Except when I require seventy words.

Crack!fic
“If your brute of a dragon drowns Granby in his sleep, I shall throttle you,” Iskierka grumbled as they watched Laurence and Tharkay curl up next to the warmth of the Kazilik; Temeraire didn’t know what she was complaining about—Laurence hadn’t misjudged a waterspout since he was three weeks out of the shell, unlike Granby, who had already set three sets of sails aflame since they’d left England.

Crossover
“Oh, we are not in any state to judge a dragon with two captains, when we have three captains shared among two dragons,” Granby said cheerfully to the elder Winchester brother and his Impala.

AU
When Laurence finally interjected that he would be paid handsomely for his troubles, Tharkay smiled and drawled, “Well, if the Jedi need my assistance, who am I to tell them no?”

Death!fic
Iskierka curled around Laurence and Tharkay each night, keening softly.

Smut
“He wants you so badly,” Tharkay said, tracing Granby’s mouth.

Genderswap
“Well, they didn’t look like cursed corsets,” Granby said defensively.

Mpreg
“I guess Tharkay gave you that egg after all,” Granby chortled, but he wasn’t laughing when Laurence brained him with the platter of potatoes.

Angst
“I did not expect the hearings to last so long,” Tharkay said when Granby stumbled into their room that night, and he realized with a sickening lurch that no one had told Tharkay what Laurence had done.

Fluff
“As though we’d stay in England without you there,” Granby said drowsily.

h/c
During the first storm, Laurence and Granby took it in turns to go between the dragondeck and the small room where Tharkay lay miserably seasick, fetching cool cloths and soothingly rubbing his back as the ship lurched to and fro; Tharkay appreciated none of this in the slightest.

I was planning on doing a Merlin/Arthur series, but I'm too busy collapsing in a heap of fail now. Maybe tomorrow.

...is it wrong that I am tempted to write more of the crack!fic? It's totally wrong, isn't it?
